CSA Share week 6/26 - Summer Succulants in Full Swing!

Today's pick up was all about summer veggies. Succulant season has arrived. Last week's extreme heat was the punctuation on the end of the late spring greens, peas, and bush beans and marked the beginning of the fleshy, cooling veggies. The season's first raspberries were available for pick-your-own, however we were unable to pick them due to an approaching thunderstorm and tornado watch. Luckily we completed the basil and flower picking before the first vibrations of thunder.

The plan this week is to make a mega-batch of pesto, potato leek soup, zucchini spice bread, breaded eggplant, veggie korma, and blueberry white chocolate chip ice cream. I can do it!

This week's share included the following:
  • 4 yellow summer squash
  • 2 green zucchini
  • 1 eggplant
  • 1 Asian eggplant
  • 4 leeks
  • 1 cucumber
  • 1 bunch dill
  • 1 bunch cilantro
  • Unlimited PYO flowers
  • Unlimited PYO basil
